Review of Kontera Network – CPC Ad Network that does not take any space on your Blogs 2012

Review of Kontera Network – CPC Ad Network that does not take any space on your Blogs 2012

Kontera is CPC (Cost Per Click) contextual advertising network. But it’s different from other CPCadvertising networks in the sense that rather than taking some precious spots on your blog/website, Kontera’s contentlink technology will highlight texts on your page that match those from its advertising inventory. If the ContentLink locates any matches, those texts will appear as double-underlined links. When the reader hovers over a link, a small in-page pop-up will appear with the advertisement.

To qualify for ContentLink Website Advertising, your site must:

* Be content-rich with more than 50 words per page on the majority of the site.
* Use English as the primary language.

With conditions like those two, almost every website can qualify and start earning with Kontera. Kontera is open to publishers from around the world.
Kontera’s publishers benefit from:

* Increased Revenues: Kontera does not take any space on your website, so Kontera can provide a new revenue stream for your website. After adding Kontera on your website, you can make more money for the same amount of visitors that come to your website.
* Simple Integration: It’s really easy to integrate Kontera on your blog/ website. If you have a WordPress blog, adding few lines of JavaScript on the footer.php file of yourWordPress theme is all that you need to do to integrate Kontera on your blog.
* High Click-Through Rates (CTR): As Kontera ads are disguised so well and appear as double underlined links and the thing that opens after hovering over the underlined links is fancy enough to draw attention of anyone who hovers over it, you would enjoy higher click through rates with Kontera.
* Huge advertising inventory: Kontera has a large network of advertisers, so almost all of your pages would have something double underlined.

There are some downsides to using Kontera as well:

* The CPC rates are not that high as compared to other advertising networks. Although the high click though rates do cover for the lost earnings to some extent, Kontera would give you lesser revenue for the same amount of impressions as compared with other big CPC Ad Networks.
* The ContentLink technology that they so much flaunt about has some flaws. For example, if you have a page about windows XP, you shouldn’t take it as a big deal if theContentLink double underlines the word “windows” which is then linked to an ad related to Window glasses.
* If you write sponsored posts on your blog, you won’t be able to add ContentLink ads on your sponsored post as advertisers who asked you to write the post would not let you do that. In that case, you will need to use this WP plugin from Kontera. Without the WP plugin from Kontera installed, you would risk getting banned from networks who pay you for writing sponsored reviews.
* Since the blogger has very little control over where the double underlined links would appear, the double underlined links at times can be distracting to regular readers.
* Kontera does not have a good reporting system as compared to other big players.

What kind of Ad formats are available?
Kontera offers various Ad formats. All the Ad formats that Kontera offers can be viewed in this PDF file. In addition to the Ad formats shown in the PDF file, Kontera offers one more Ad format called the hybrid Ad format. The hybrid Ad format is available to selected publishers only.
What’s the minimum payout and how do they pay?
Kontera’s website states the following when it comes to payment:

We pay based on account levels at the end of each month, with $100.00 being the minimum level we issue checks for, and our terms are net 30. For example, if, at the end of July, your account level is at $100.00 or more, we will issue payment 30 days later, and it will be sent to you the first week of September.
Our standard payment method is check by US mail, but there are other options you may want to consider depending on where you live. We offer direct deposit for free via ACH to publishers in the United States (click here to download the US ACH form), or via International EFT for publishers in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Direct deposits can be sent in your local currency if you prefer, and you can download the necessary form to complete by clicking here.
For publishers residing outside of the countries listed above (Hi Tanzania!), we also offer payment via international wire tranfer for a fee of $30.00. Click here to download the International Wire Transfer form.
